SunPause

A gentle screen time app that doesn't make you feel guilty

SunPause is a gentle screen time app for iPhone, built for people who want to scroll less without feeling bad about it. There are no red alarms and no shaming when you go over. Your daily limit is shown as weather, a friendly sun is always on your side, and when you really need an app, a short pause opens it.

Launch offer: new yearly subscribers get a whole month free instead of 7 days.

Limits without shame or punishment

A pause, not a wall

When your time is used up, the apps you chose rest until morning. If you need one anyway, take a short pause with the sun first: three slow breaths, a quick sum, or one of six tiny games. Then choose 5, 10 or 30 minutes. You can pause as often as you ask; the point is a moment to notice, not a punishment.

Flexible limits you can change without guilt

Change your daily limit whenever you like. A lower limit starts at once; a higher one waits for the next morning, so a tired evening can't quietly undo the plan you made rested.

Private, and no account

Your Screen Time data stays on your iPhone. There is nothing to sign up for, no ads and no tracking, and SunPause cannot even see which apps you picked: iOS hands it anonymous tokens.

Price

Free to download, with a subscription: yearly or monthly. In the United States that is $39.99 a year or $7.99 a month; prices are lower in many countries. During the launch, new yearly subscribers get a free month instead of the usual 7-day trial. Cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.

Questions

Is there a screen time app that doesn't make me feel guilty?

Yes. SunPause is built for that: your screen time is weather, a friendly sun is on your side, there is no shaming when you go over, and a short pause opens an app whenever you really need it.

Is SunPause strict?

It is firm but kind. When the daily limit is used up, the chosen apps rest until 6:00 am, and a short pause with the sun opens them for 5, 10 or 30 minutes.

Does SunPause use streaks?

There is a streak for the days that count (within your limit, a finished focus, or an app closed without a pause), and no scolding on the days that don't. Each day starts fresh at 6:00 am.

Who is SunPause for?

Adults and teens managing their own screen time on their own iPhone.
